Oops a busy wekend.. I did four hrs at work on Saturday morning and then went to Platypus Patchworkers Friendship Day, then to Cafe RA at Ulverstone for dinner that night. So Sunday became catch up day at home and in the garden.

Finalay got some photos of my pantograph samples. The circle block in the photo is one of the block that I made when I was at AQC in Melbourne last month.

Tonught I am going to organise my sewing table so that I can actually do some stitching.

Pantographs

I spent the first half of the day doing some pantograph samples. By the time I thought of it, it was too dark for photos. The dog was walked and then not much at all. A roast of venison for dinner. The photos are of a quilt that I quilted for Elaine for her niece and my Cadbury Purple challenge quilt

My local group had a cadbury purple challenge. Everone provided a metre of suitable purple fabric, we then separated into 3 groups and each was given about 7 inches of each of 6 purple fabrics. We could do what ever we wanted just as long as we used a recognisable amount of each fabric.. We could add one colour and another fabric. Needles to say the results were varied.

Cheers for the week Edith

Finished

I finished this small quilt on Sunday. It is the first time that I have sewed the binding completely by machine. An it was a lot quicker. Will certainly do it again for utilitarian quilts. This one will be going into the pile as a giveaway when needed. I quilted it on the frame, and since then I have replaced two of my rails so that should make for smoother pantos in future.+

I have also finished my Klosjes quilt top. Now to decide how to quilt it.

New Philosophy

I will try to blog at least one per week. Will make it part of my routine. I will aim for Sunday morning. Last year each Sunday morning I would download the block from Barbara Brackmans blog Civil War Quilts.

Photo is of Mt Cameron from Green Point Beach. We were there in Feb of this year for our annual pilgrimage
This week I have managed to tidy my sewing room. although at the moment the washing is airning on my sewing table. Won't take long to fix. I have almost got my Klosjes quilt top together. Just one long seam to go. Will post a photo when finished

This photo is of our groups friendship day. I great day was had by all . All visitors received the gift of a mat to sit their sewing machine on. Lots of fun food and freindship.

I have been doing some quilting on my frame that I got last year. This is one that I quilted for mu friend Elaine. It is for their 5th Wheeler.

Cheers for now Edie
